VARIETIES
COSAR honey apiaries are spread along the central area of Santa Fe province. Three ecotypes are recognized in this region: the plains, where crops and natural pastures prevail; the bush, where there are different trees, shrubs and herbaceous species; and the coast by the Parana River and its tributaries dominated by lush and varied vegetation. Depending on the sources of nectar where bees sip, different, pure, and characteristic products are obtained in each region. These conditions also demand that beekeepers diversify their management practices according to the environment so as to maximize productivity.
